2019 MAZDA6 RECEIVES TOP SAFETY PICK

2019 MAZDA6 RECEIVES TOP SAFETY PICK

The 2019 Mazda 6 was awarded the 2019 TOP SAFETY PICK designation by the IIHS

The 2019 Mazda6 earned a TOP SAFETY PICK award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when equipped with specific headlights.

To qualify for a 2019 TOP SAFETY PICK award, a vehicle must earn good ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, as well as a good or acceptable rating in the passenger-side small overlap front test. It also needs an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention and a good or acceptable headlight rating. The Mazda6 received a "Good" rating in all the crash tests conducted.

The 2019 Mazda6's IIHS Crash Safety Test Report Card

With the Mazda6 receiving this designation it joins five of our lineup in receiving this honor. The 2019 Mazda3 Sport and Sedan both received Top Safety Pick Awards, within the compact car segment. Our strict safety standards are also implemented in the design of our crossover vehicles and it shows. The Mazda CX-3 and our 3-row CX-9 both received Top Safety Pick designations earlier this year. Our award-winning Mazda CX-5 received TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation which is the highest tier of award given out by the IIHS. Safety is a top priority when designing all our vehicles. As safety standards get stricter we are committed to not only meeting but exceeding them.

The IIHS awarded the Mazda CX-3, Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-9 the Top Safety Pick designation. Highlighting Mazda's commitment to building not only the most engaging vehicles in the market but also the safest vehicles in each segment we compete in.

The IIHS is an independent, non-governmental safety-testing organization, funded by the insurance industry. For more information, visit IIHS.org.
