Never resting on our laurels, the 2019 Mazda CX-9 improves its already commendable safety rating of Top Safety Pick to the highest designation offered by the International Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS), Top Safety Pick+. This is due to improvements in the 2019 Mazda CX-9's headlights, resulting in better headlight scores and the upgrade to the Top Safety Pick+ designation. The Mazda CX-9 had previously received awarded the Top Safety Pick after it received top scores in all the crash safety tests carried out by the IIHS.
